After flying high against the Aurora Huskies on Saturday, the Wahoo Warriors came back down to earth. Wahoo took a 48-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Norris on Tuesday. Wahoo was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Norris apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Wahoo lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sidney Smart. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points along with 6 rebounds. Erin Golladay was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
Norris can attribute much of their success to Ella Johnson, who scored 18 points along with 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Nicole Keetle, who scored 12 points.
Wahoo has fallen quite a ways from their 19-6 record last season and are now at 1-2. As for Norris, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Wahoo will look to defend their home court on Friday against Wayne at 6:00 p.m. As for Norris, they will head out on the road to face off against Elkhorn at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Elkhorn and Norris are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
