Jeremiah Delarosa Delivers Best Performance of Season
Atwater was led to victory by Jeremiah Delarosa, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Delarosa rushed for 129 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.
The win (which was Atwater's third in a row) raised their record to 6-1. Delarosa will have a chance to log another big game when he takes on Golden Valley on Friday.

Merced Gets a Boost from Dupree in 45-7 Win
Quintell Dupree was instrumental in extending Merced's winning streak to three on Friday. Los Banos had no answer to Dupree as he threw for 191 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Dupree is probably looking forward to his next game, a home matchup against El Capitan on Friday. Dupree threw for 176 yards and four touchdowns on perfect 5-for-5 passing the last time he and the Gauchos duked it out back in October of 2023.

Julian Higareda Makes It Two for Merced
Keeping Dupree company is Julian Higareda, a fellow Merced player. He picked up 70 receiving yards and a touchdown. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 51 yards.
Higareda and Merced will be playing at home against El Capitan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Higareda will face off against Diego Ultreras, the Gauchos' star receiver. With so much talent on the field, fans are surely in for an exciting game. The only thing left to see is who brings home the W.

El Capitan was sadly handed a defeat on Friday, but Lorenzo Peters did his best to prevent it. Peters was dynamite, rushing for 54 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
El Capitan dropped their record down to 4-3 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. Peters and El Capitan will venture away from home to square off against Merced at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
