The Powdersville Patriots waltzed into their matchup on Friday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Southside 71-42 at home. Powdersville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.
Hayden Assemian was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with nine rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games he's played. Nick Sweet was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Powdersville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Southside, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
Powdersville will take on Riverside at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Riverside is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Southside, they will be playing at home against Belton-Honea Path at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
