The Danville Admirals are taking a road trip to square off against the Bardstown Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Danville has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with 13 straight defeats, while Bardstown will come in with three straight wins.
Things were looking good for Danville after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Burgin, falling 27-10. While the Admirals didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 5-0 in the first period.
Brooklyn Robinson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with four RBI. Another player making a difference was Dashannica Jones, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bardstown). They were the clear victors by a 22-12 margin over Caverna on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by exactly ten runs.
Sophea Baker made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Bardstown got a massive performance out of Molly Kisegy, who went 5-for-6 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those three runs gave Kisegy a new career-high. Claire Buzick was another key player, going 3-for-5 with five runs, three RBI, and one triple.
Bardstown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Danville's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Bardstown, their record is now 4-7.
Danville suffered a grim 14-1 defeat to Bardstown in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Can the Admirals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
