Football Recap: Southwest Skates Past South Platte with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Southwest's strategy against South Platte on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Roughriders blew the Blue Knights out of the water with a 59-8 final score. Fans of the Roughriders have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Houston Billeter had a dynamite game, rushing for 101 yards and three scores on only six carries, while also throwing for 172 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes. Those 101 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Southwest proved: they limited South Platte to a paltry 1.7 yards per carry.
