It was a good run, but the Kingman Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 48-35 to Independent. Kingman has not had much luck with Independent recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Kingman lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tristen Davidson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Chase Webster, who scored 12 points.
Independent's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sir Ryan Dennis, who scored nine points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kingston Selmon, who scored eight points.
Kingman's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Independent, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kingman will take on Medicine Lodge at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Medicine Lodge is coming into the match with five straight wins at home, so Kingman is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Independent, they will head out on the road to challenge Cheney at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Cheney knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Independent likes a good challenge.
