The Bombers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Suns on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bombers have posted since October 12, 2024.
Richland was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (110-108), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 20-25, 26-24, 29-27, 15-9.
Meanwhile, Hanford came up short against Hermiston on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The loss continues a trend for the Falcons in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.
Hanford started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-13, 25-22, 28-26.
Richland is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. As for Hanford, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
