The J.H. Rose Rampants's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 71-53 fall against South Central. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for J.H. Rose in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now lost four in a row.
J.H. Rose's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justin Grimes, who scored 19 points along with three steals. Malachi Green was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists and two steals.
South Central was led to victory by Isaiah Godley and Ean Behm. Godley scored 14 points, while Behm scored 17 points along with two steals. Behm is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Troy Loftin, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
J.H. Rose dropped their record down to 10-9 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for South Central, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-1.
J.H. Rose will head out on the road to face off against the Monarchs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northside - Jacksonville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 465th, while the Rampants are ranked 228th). As for South Central, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Bears at 7:30 p.m.
