Jake Dorsi Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Starting off the list is Savanna's Jake Dorsi, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Dorsi rushed for 176 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (105.4).
Magnolia had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Dorsi it was a similar story. When Dorsi last faced the Sentinels back in October of 2023, he rushed for 114 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also picked up 101 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Magnolia's Losing Streak Is No More Thanks to Kamari Smith
Magnolia's nine-game losing streak dating back to last season is now nothing but a memory thanks in part to Kamari Smith. Smith was unstoppable on Thursday, rushing for 96 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, while also throwing for 11 yards and a touchdown. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making four total tackles.
Magnolia's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. Smith and Magnolia will take on Western at 2:10 p.m. on Thursday.

Cline Made His Presence Known in Magnolia's 29-28 Win
Thanks in part to Derricks Cline, Magnolia said goodbye to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season. Cline turned in nothing short of a gem on Thursday, picking up 81 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Godinez Fundamental was sadly handed a defeat on Friday, but Jairo Guterrez did his best to prevent it. Guterrez turned in nothing short of a gem, picking up 42 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Godinez Fundamental now has a losing record at 3-4. Guterrez and Godinez Fundamental will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Magnolia at 7:00 p.m. on October 18th.
