The Sebring Blue Streaks are on the road again on Friday and plays the Parrish Community Bulls at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sebring had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They really took it to the Seminoles for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-28 victory on the road. Sebring has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.
Sebring's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Shamari Jones, who scored 11 points, and Adrianna Maldonado, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Gileanys Nieves Martinez, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Parrish Community didn't have too much trouble with Boca Ciega on the road on Wednesday as they won 63-49. With that win, Parrish Community brought their scoring average up to 50.5 points per game.
It was another big night for Mary Portwood, who almost dropped a double-double on 28 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Heuss, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Sebring is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Parrish Community, their win bumped their record up to 16-7.
Sebring was dealt a bruising 65-37 defeat at the hands of Parrish Community when the teams last played back in February of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Sebring was down 45-23.
