If the Council Lumberjacks were feeling good off their 73-28 takedown of the Salmon River Savages last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Council fell 51-42 to the Mustangs on Monday. Council was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Horseshoe Bend's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Porter Larson, who scored 16 points along with three steals. Layth Bromgard was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Council has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Horseshoe Bend, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Council does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Horseshoe Bend will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on February 8th.
