The Lemon Bay Manta Rays scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past Naples 70-48. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-14.
Lemon Bay was led to victory by Maya Collins and Mackenzie Long. Collins scored 21 points along with five assists and three steals, while Long scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Collins is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Myah Dickerson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds.
Despite the loss, Naples still got an impressive performance from Annika Andersen, who scored 19 points along with two blocks. Another player making a difference was Madison Hovey, who scored nine points.
Lemon Bay's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Naples, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.
Lemon Bay will be playing at home against Riverview Sarasota at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Riverview Sarasota is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 61.8 points per game. Naples on the road again on Wednesday and play against Fort Myers at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Fort Myers is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
