AAAAAA Region 6 recap Oct. 3, 2012
West Forsyth extended the longest winning streak in AAAAAA Region 6 this week by beating Centennial, 40-6. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
West Forsyth took down the Knights 40-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. A.J. Erdely threw for 267 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 18 yards in the win.
Jake Wieczorek was the best wideout in the league this week as the Wolverines topped Centennial. Wieczorek racked up seven receptions for 164 yards. Ty Anderson helped West Forsyth's passing attack out by catching three balls for 54 yards.
Chase Solomon was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 77 yards on 14 carries as Johns Creek defeated Jeff Carlberg's team. Teammate Skye Overton added to the ground attack by rushing for 41 yards.
Brett Anderson made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Wolverines defeated the Knights. The 5-foot-11 junior grabbed four sacks.
6-foot-4 quarterback Erdely of West Forsyth is the league leader in passing yards this season with 935. He has also thrown nine touchdowns. On the ground, the Gladiators' Overton has rushed for 431 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Christian Robinson. The Centennial star has 33 catches for 529 yards.
Centennial made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,442 from 8,874. The advance stemmed from a 40-6 victory over the Knights last week.
