Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Purnell Swett to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayda Dial, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Niyah Locklear was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 11 rebounds and four steals.
Douglas Byrd dropped their record down to 2-11 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Purnell Swett, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.
Douglas Byrd will head out on the road to face off against Cape Fear at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cape Fear presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Douglas Byrd in North Carolina (Cape Fear is ranked 24th, while Douglas Byrd is ranked 496th). As for Purnell Swett, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pine Forest at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
