Liberty is a perfect 10-0 against Sierra since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Hawks will face off against the Chieftains at 4:00 p.m. Liberty's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Sierra's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Liberty blew Fowler out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Fowler got their revenge. The Hawks fell just short of the Redcats by a score of 9-7. The Hawks' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Carley Hedstrom made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Baker, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Sierra's offense. They lost 24-0 to Liberty on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Chieftains' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Sierra saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Bays, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Bays has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played.

Liberty's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 16-8. As for Sierra, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.

Sierra's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Liberty has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. It's a different story for Sierra, though, as they've been averaging 9.2 hits. Given Liberty's sizable advantage in that area, the Chieftains will need to find a way to close that gap.

Liberty took their win against Sierra in their previous meeting on Tuesday by a conclusive 24-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
