The West Campus Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Monterey Trail Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Monterey Trail took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on West Campus, who comes in off a win.
West Campus will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Leroy Greene Academy on Wednesday. West Campus blew past Leroy Greene Academy 20-1.
Analisa Mederos was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, West Campus got a massive performance out of Milana Hess, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. The dominant performance gave Hess a new career-high in hits. Sophia Quiroz was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
West Campus hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Monterey Trail was a bit more limited in their contest last Tuesday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tracy.
Sophia Coronado spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.
West Campus now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Monterey Trail, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Monterey Trail's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: West Campus hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .402. It's a different story for Monterey Trail, though, as they've only averaged .219. Will they be able to contain West Campus' hitters?
West Campus might still be hurting after the 9-2 defeat they got from Monterey Trail in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can West Campus avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
