The Lawrence County Wildcats pushed their score all the way to 62 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Mars by a score of 65-62. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Lawrence County came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 25th in Tennessee, while Mars is ranked 205th in Pennsylvania).
It was another big night for Ryan Ceh, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds for Mars. The game was Ceh's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Campbell, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Lawrence County's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Mars, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lawrence County will take on Rockvale at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mars and North Hills will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
