The Del Sol Dragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 85-73 to Cimarron-Memorial. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Del Sol in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now lost seven in a row.
Del Sol's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaeden Alexander, who scored 25 points. It was the first time this season that Alexander scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Luis Lozano, who scored 13 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Del Sol has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Cimarron-Memorial, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-8.
Del Sol will stay at home for another game and welcome the Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. Western is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses. As for Cimarron-Memorial, they will head out on the road to challenge the Cowboys at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chaparral will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nevada Rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Spartans are ranked 19th).
