Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of LANDON SAMUEL and IZAYIA WILLIAMS Lead Tavares to Victory

Tavares came into Friday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Ridgeview Panthers 65-39 on Friday. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 39-32 loss the last time these two teams met.

Tavares was led to victory by IZAYIA WILLIAMS and LANDON SAMUEL. WILLIAMS went 6 for 10 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds, while SAMUEL posted 15 points. WILLIAMS's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of KEVIN DANIELS, who had six points in addition to seven assists and three steals.

Ridgeview's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jameer Castillo, who put up eight points. Another player making a difference was Marion Dupont, who posted six points and seven rebounds.

Tavares' victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Ridgeview, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.

Tavares didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-45 loss against Eagle's View on the 28th. As for Ridgeview, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-39 win against Duval Charter on the 28th.
