St. John Paul II had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Nauset Regional Warriors a 10-0 shutout. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by nine runs or more this season.

Brian Mancinelli made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Colin Buckley, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Henry Roy was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

St. John Paul II's win bumped their record up to 21-2. As for Nauset Regional, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-15.
