Valley hasn't had much luck against University recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Vikings will host the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Valley's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over Fort Lupton. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by nine runs or more this season.

Andrew Renken was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Valley is 5-1 when Renken posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Adolf, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, University came tearing into Monday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Miners.
Joel Ramirez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 12 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, University's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Medardo Abrego, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
University pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Valley, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Valley couldn't quite get it done against University when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 5-1. Will the Vikings have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
