Yorba Linda and Foothill are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2022, but likely not for long. The Mustangs will take on the Knights at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Yorba Linda's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Foothill's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Yorba Linda's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Crean Lutheran as they made off with a 19-0 win. Considering the Mustangs have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Sydney Chirco made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.
In other batting news, Jacie Jerotz was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Saige Block also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Yorba Linda was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .514. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Foothill ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past Troy 5-4.
Capri Gallego spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Rodriguez Haley, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Arrazola, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Foothill's record now sits at 9-13. As for Yorba Linda, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-9.
Yorba Linda beat Foothill 8-4 in their previous meeting on April 3rd. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
