The Maywood CES Wolfpack suffered their biggest defeat since December 14, 2023 on Monday. They took a serious blow against Sotomayor, falling 69-36. Maywood CES has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Sotomayor's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jace Jimenez led the charge by scoring 14 points along with three steals. Jimenez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Gabriel Martin was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
Maywood CES's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Sotomayor, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maywood CES will take on Marquez at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Marquez knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Maywood CES likes a good challenge. As for Sotomayor, they will head out on the road to challenge Elizabeth at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
