Palmetto won against Powdersville last Tuesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Palmetto Mustangs were the clear victor by an 11-0 margin over the St. Joseph's Catholic Knights. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.
Hannah Lawter made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Graelyn Adams was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Carrigan Holbert, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Palmetto was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Joseph's Catholic only posted a batting average of .000.
Palmetto is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
