Winfield faced Point Pleasant in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Generals' pitchers stepped up to hand the Big Blacks a 6-0 shutout. The Generals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

Winfield's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Point Pleasant, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Coming up, Winfield will be playing at home against Ripley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
