3A Conference 10 recap October 8, 2013
Eastern Guilford added to the longest winning streak in 3A Conference 10 this week by beating Morehead, 43-0. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
The Panthers fell to Eastern Guilford 43-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Austin Coltrane threw for 175 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 15-21 with 0 interceptions.
Coltrane and Cj Freeman gave Northern Guilford a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Teammate Chris Ripberger added to the ground attack by rushing for 58 yards.
5-foot-9 quarterback Trevion McCollum of Western Alamance is the league leader in passing yards this season with 843. He has also thrown 9 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Malik Wilson. The Eastern Alamance star has 19 catches for 434 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Eastern Alamance takes on the Warriors. As it stands, the Eagles are in fourth, while Western Alamance is in second.
Rockingham County made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,085 from 9,032. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 25-14 victory over Williams last week.
