There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. Among the action were the efforts of Wilsonville's senior Nathan Overholt, an offensive menace who scored seven total TDs.
Can't Touch This
Woodland's 47 - 27 win over Mark Morris last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Tyler Flanagan. Flanagan ran for 380 yards and also punched in five touchdowns. That performance landed Flanagan among the top power-ranked players for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Tigard (5th in the power rankings) and Tualatin (10th). Tigard came out on top against Tualatin with a 27 - 14 win. The victory raised Tigard up one spot in the power rankings.
Movin on Up
It was onward and upward for Silverton this week as the team hoisted itself up seven places in the power rankings -- the largest rise of the week -- after their most recent game. It was a close one, but it sidestepped West Albany for the 17 - 14 win. The outcome was a definite jolt of excitement for Silverton after its previous game, where the margin was anything but close.
Next Week's Big Game
It should be quite a contest when Hermiston (ranked 14th in OR) and Central Valley (37th in WA) face off this week. This will be the second home game in a row for Hermiston. It has never lost back-to-back this season, but Central Valley hopes to show it that there is a first time for everything.
