The Twiggs Academy Trojans can finally bid farewell to their 13-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Central Georgia Arts and snuck past 64-61. The victory was just what Twiggs Academy needed coming off of a 106-0 loss in their prior matchup.
Josh Nobles was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 37 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Twiggs Academy's points. Jacob Smith was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds.
Twiggs Academy's win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-18. As for Central Georgia Arts, their loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-21.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Twiggs Academy will challenge the Matadors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central Georgia Arts, they will head out on the road to square off against the at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Covenant Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Friday.
