Baseball Recap: First Flight Wins Going Away Against Holmes

First Flight lost to Holmes last Tuesday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Nighthawks were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Aces. The Nighthawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Everest Ouellette, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Brody Stephens was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Ouellette wasn't the only one making solid contact: First Flight kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The Nighthawks are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

First Flight is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Holmes, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-3.

Coming up, First Flight will host Nash Central at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Nighthawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Holmes, they will venture away from home to challenge Camden County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bruins will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Aces surely won't give up without a fight.
