Gulf Coast HEAT scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 78-58 margin over Families Instructing Students HomeSchool. With that victory, Gulf Coast HEAT brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gulf Coast HEAT to victory, but perhaps none more so than Steven Scott, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. Scott is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Westin Lacey was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Gulf Coast HEAT's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Families Instructing Students HomeSchool, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Gulf Coast HEAT will be playing at home against Halifax Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Families Instructing Students HomeSchool won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Grace Christian at 7:15 p.m. on January 19th. Grace Christian will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
