Robert Wilson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 31 points along with six rebounds and five assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Peyton Baldry was another key player, posting 11 points in addition to five boards and three steals.
They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Mineral County was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Pyramid Lake fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Smith Valley on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 73-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Lakers haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Mineral County will have to keep a close watch on Rylen Patrick and Myron Rivers, a pair of players who had a big impact on Pyramid Lake's prior game. Patrick went 8 of 17 en route to 23 points and three steals, while Rivers posted 18 points. Patrick is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Cash Hall, who earned seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Mineral County's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-9. As for Pyramid Lake, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 10-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Mineral County has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 29.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Pyramid Lake struggles in that department as they've been averaging 34.7 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
