The Woodside Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Santa Teresa Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Woodside's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Santa Teresa has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Woodside put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They really took it to Del Mar for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-21 win at home.
Woodside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Oliver Lyssand led the charge by rushing for 98 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. Lyssand was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Frampton, who rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries.
Meanwhile, after only seven points in their last contest, Santa Teresa made sure to put some points up on the board against Los Altos on Friday. Santa Teresa put the hurt on Los Altos with a sharp 37-15 win.
Their wins bumped Woodside to 7-4 and Santa Teresa to 5-6.
