The Liberty Christian Patriots waltzed into their game Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They managed a 55-49 win over Tekoa-Rosalia. This was payback for Liberty Christian, who suffered a 71-62 loss the last time these two teams met.
When it comes to explaining why Tekoa-Rosalia lost, one person who can't be blamed is Isaac Bone. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Bone scored a full 55.1% of Tekoa-Rosalia's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Place, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Liberty Christian's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Tekoa-Rosalia, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Tri-Cities Prep at 7:30 p.m. on December 13th. One thing working in Tri-Cities Prep's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Tekoa-Rosalia, they will head out on the road to face off against Oakesdale at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
