Basketball Recap: Eastside Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Eastside had won two straight games and Wydell James did his part to make it three on Saturday. The Lions blew past the Hollywood Sheiks, posting an 84-35 win with plenty of help from James, who shot 4-for-5 from deep and almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine assists. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 49% field goal percentage.

Another player making a difference was Tykeam McQueen, who posted 11 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Eastside's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Hollywood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Eastside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-28 win against Rosamond on the 25th. As for Hollywood, after both having extra time off, they and Contreras will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 4:00 p.m. on December 3. The contest will give the Sheiks their first taste of in-conference action this season.
