The Marshall Academy Griffons will head out on the road to challenge the Rudolf Steiner Storm at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marshall Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Marshall Academy, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 43-29 loss to Will Carleton Academy.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Malia Taylor, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That was a full 55.2% of Marshall Academy's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Amiah Poindexter was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, sadly, Rudolf Steiner is still looking for their first win of the season after four games. The contest between them and Marshall Academy wasn't particularly close, with Rudolf Steiner falling 31-15. Rudolf Steiner has struggled against Marshall Academy recently, as their game two weeks ago was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Marshall Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. Rudolf Steiner's season is starting to look like last year's as the team currently sits at an 0-4 record this season.
Marshall Academy strolled past Rudolf Steiner when the teams last played two weeks ago by a score of 31-15. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marshall Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
