Mira Costa was led to victory by Nico De La Cruz and Charlie O'connor. De La Cruz threw for 333 yards and three touchdowns, while O'connor picked up 164 receiving yards and three touchdowns. O'connor was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 62 yards. Reese Leonard also helped out as he racked up 121 receiving yards.
Despite the loss, Yucaipa had strong showings from Logan Barbour , who rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and Tyler Noah , who picked up 140 receiving yards.
Mira Costa's win was their third straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 4-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.3 points per game. As for Yucaipa, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-4.
Mira Costa will be playing in front of their home fans against Cypress at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
