Foundation Academy is 1-6 against Windermere Prep since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Lions will head out to challenge the Lakers at 4:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Foundation Academy turned things around against Davenport on Tuesday. They blew past the Broncos 9-2. The Lions not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 27th (when they won 11-1).

Riley Winters was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Pressley Boeni, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Norah Ranaudo, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Foundation Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Windermere Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Central Florida Christian Academy a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Lakers have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Foundation Academy, Windermere Prep also got a great game from a two-way player: Carsha Campbell. On the mound, Campbell pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Vanessa Nawracaj tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. At the plate, Campbell went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Nawracaj went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That double was Campbell's first of the season.
In other batting news, Windermere Prep got a massive performance out of Kylie Konstand, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Goldberg, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Foundation Academy's record now sits at 6-7. As for Windermere Prep, their record is now 8-4.
Foundation Academy got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 against Windermere Prep by a conclusive 16-3 score. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Lakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
