Softball Game Preview: Richton Rebels vs. Resurrection Catholic Eagles

For the second straight game, Richton will face off against Resurrection Catholic. The Rebels will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Richton's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.

Richton took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Resurrection Catholic a 12-0 shutout. With that victory, the Rebels brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Eliza Kelly made a big impact no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Richton let Brayleigh Parker and Jayla Hibbler run wild. Parker got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Hibbler got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Parker is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Rylee Black was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Richton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .759. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.

Richton now has a winning record of 6-5-1. As for Resurrection Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
