Hopefully Mount Desert Island is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hermon in Maine (Mount Desert Island is ranked 27th, while Hermon is ranked 100th).
Mount Desert Island can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Foxcroft Academy with a sharp 57-34 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Mount Desert Island has posted yet this season.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Hermon, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 34-16 loss to Houlton on Monday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hermon has scored all season.
Mount Desert Island is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Hermon, they bumped their record down to 1-8 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Mount Desert Island strolled past Hermon in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 53-38. Will Mount Desert Island repeat their success, or does Hermon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
