The biggest upset of the week belonged to Jefferson, who took down 335th ranked Jefferson, 40-6. ZACH SCHLARB threw for 86 yards and three touchdowns in the win.
Milan extended the longest winning streak in Huron this week by beating St. Mary Catholic Central, 35-20. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Big Reds.
Grosse Ile's dynamic duo of Andrew Mitroka and Jordan Nellenbach proved tough for Airport to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Mitroka threw for 211 yards and two touchdowns and Nellenbach had 118 yards receiving. Danny McCarty helped Grosse Ile's passing attack out by catching three balls for 85 yards.
Arthur Dukes III was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 230 yards on 36 carries as Milan beat the Jets. Robert Kanitz also contributed to the rushing game with 122 yards on the ground.
6-foot-1 quarterback Mitroka of Grosse Ile is the league leader in passing yards this season with 488. He has also thrown four touchdowns. On the ground, Jesse Hoskins's team's Dukes III has rushed for 687 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is John Hutchison. The Riverview star has 12 catches for 245 yards.
A big matchup in Huron this week will be when Flat Rock takes on the Big Reds. The Rams are in seventh place, while Milan is in first place.
The Big Reds moved up to 81 from 148 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 35-20 win over the Falcons/Kestrels helped Milan improve its standing.
