The Teaneck Highwaymen will challenge the Union City Soaring Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Teaneck took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They never let Garfield get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Highwaymen needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.
Teaneck got a great performance from Saimon D'Adolf as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Deyton Walcott was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Teaneck: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Rajan Luciano, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Teaneck always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Union City got the win against Hudson Catholic on Thursday by a conclusive 10-3. The win continues a trend for the Soaring Eagles in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won six in a row.
Miguel Fillion tossed a big game, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.
On the hitting side, Union City got a massive performance out of Jayden Perez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That home run marked the first that Perez has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Eddy Fernandez, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
Union City's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Teaneck, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season.
