The Lake Braddock Bruins will look to defend their home field on Friday against the South County Stallions at 7:00 p.m. Lake Braddock will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
Even though West Springfield scored an imposing 37 points on Friday, Lake Braddock still came out on top. Lake Braddock secured a 41-37 W over West Springfield.
Lake Braddock's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Robert Hollien, who picked up 152 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Hollien's longest reception was for an incredible 75 yards. Michael Suris was another key contributor, throwing for 277 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes.
Meanwhile, South County can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Woodson 56-13 on the road. Given South County's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Woodson is ranked 202nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Dennis, who threw for 343 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.3 yards per attempt. Another player making a difference was Tommy Martz, who rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Lake Braddock's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for South County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Lake Braddock came up short against South County when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 33-24. Will Lake Braddock have more luck at home instead of on the road?
