The Berrien Rebels will head out on the road to face off against the Dodge County Indians at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Berrien won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 65-40 walloping at the hands of Sumter County. While losing is never fun, Berrien can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 359th, while Sumter County is ranked 87th).
Meanwhile, after a string of ten wins, Dodge County's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost to Sumter County on the road by a decisive 37-23 margin. Having soared to a lofty 58 points in the game before, Dodge County couldn't push the score so high this time.
Dodge County might have lost, but man, Lyric Green was a machine: she dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds. That was a full 65.2% of Dodge County's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Berrien's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Dodge County, their defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-4.
Berrien was taken down by Dodge County 63-36 in their previous meeting back in January. Can Berrien avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
