After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Munster, the Highland Trojans were happy to have found some success on Friday. They took down Lake Station Edison 67-50. For Highland, this counts as revenge for the 61-47 loss Lake Station Edison walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Highland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Walter Glover jr, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Justin Pack, who scored 15 points along with four steals.
Lake Station Edison's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Areion Head, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds. That was a full 46% of Lake Station Edison's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Davon Jones was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
The victory got Highland back to even at 8-8. As for Lake Station Edison, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highland will take on Andrean at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Andrean focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Thursday. As for Lake Station Edison, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Hanover Central at 7:00 p.m. on January 20th. Hanover Central is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
