The Seton Catholic Sentinels will challenge the Globe Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Globe will be up against a hot Seton Catholic team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Seton Catholic blew past ALA - Ironwood 20-1 on Thursday. The Sentinels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.
Brady Stephenson looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
On the hitting side, Seton Catholic let P.J. Rafford and Jax Minnis run wild. Rafford got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Minnis scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs Rafford has posted since back in March of 2024. Josh Brown was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Seton Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as ALA - Ironwood only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Globe). They put the hurt on Miami with a sharp 20-3 victory on Wednesday. With that win, the Tigers brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
Sir Sneezy made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with three runs and four RBI.
In other batting news, Corban Bejarano was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Braden Wager, who scored two runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
Seton Catholic pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Globe, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
