5A Region II District 13 recap October 1, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Klein Oak, who took down 145th ranked Klein Collins, 28-7.
The Panthers scaled the state rankings by moving to 246 from 309 this week, the biggest jump in 5A Region II District 13. Klein Oak was able to move up by besting the Tigers 28-7.
Dekaney's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Adrian Hardy threw for 34 yards and Ashton Holmes had 12 yards receiving. On the ground Demarcus Felton contributed 117 yards.
The Wildcats' dynamic duo of Hardy and Holmes proved tough for Klein Forest to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Felton provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Dekaney beat the Eagles. Felton's favorite target this week was Holmes, who caught 2 passes for 12 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Westfield's William Dedon and Donovan Thompson have proven to be a lethal combination. Dedon has thrown for 512 yards this season, while Thompson has 9 catches for 189 yards. Anthony Williams' team's Felton leads the league in rushing yards with 928.
The Wildcats' Felton needs only 72 yards against Kingwood next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 112 carries Felton has put up 928 yards this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Atascocita takes on Spring. The Eagles are in third place, while the Lions are in fourth place.
The Mustangs extended the longest winning streak in 5A Region II District 13 this week by beating Atascocita, 41-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
