Easthampton/Hampshire proved they can win big  last Thursday (they won by 30) and  on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Holyoke Purple Knights  24-22. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Easthampton/Hampshire got their  victory on the backs of several key players, but it was  Patrick Larson out in front who rushed for 47 yards and one  TD, and also picked up 56 receiving yards.  Jake Kostek was another key player, gaining 115 total yards.
 Easthampton/Hampshire didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Holyoke to a completion percentage of just 45%. The Eagles weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 63.6%.
 Easthampton/Hampshire didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Kostek and  Luis Salgado.
 Holyoke's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Jesus Morales, who rushed for 85 yards and one  score on only 12 carries.  Jose Feliciano also helped out with an impressive 80  receiving yards.
Easthampton/Hampshire's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Holyoke,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-4.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Easthampton/Hampshire will  face off against  rival Lee/Lenox Memorial  at 7:00  p.m.  on  the 17th. The two teams have allowed few  points on average (the Eagles 11.2, the Wildcats 3.2) so any  points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Holyoke is set to  square off against  their familiar foe South Hadley  at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday.
