The South Central Trojans will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Monroeville Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully South Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Thursday.
South Central can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game. They took down Crestline 62-47. With that win, South Central brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.
South Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gunner Ray, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. The game was Ray's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Weston June, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-42, which was the final score in Monroeville's tilt against Western Reserve on Friday.
South Central's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Monroeville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
South Central might still be hurting after the 59-39 defeat they got from Monroeville in their previous meeting back in February. Thankfully for South Central, Aidan Goodwin (who scored 18 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
