Murphy fell to Auburn 51-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
McGill-Toolen and Opelika played the closest game in 6A Region 1 this week, with McGill-Toolen eventually emerging with a 21-20 victory. Harry Satterwhite threw for 176 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win.
The Yellowjackets' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Ito Smith contributed 181 yards. Chris Knowles helped McGill-Toolen's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 62 yards.
Mauricio Cole made the biggest impact on defense this week as McGill-Toolen bested the Bulldogs. The 5-foot-8 defensive lineman forced 1 fumble.
Smith was a passing and rushing force as Bart Sessions' team defeated Opelika. Smith's key target this week was Wil Young, who caught 4 passes for 67 yards.
Smith was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 181 yards on 22 carries as the Yellowjackets bested Brian Blackmon's team.
On the heels of Satterwhite and Smith, McGill-Toolen has had great success on offense. Satterwhite leads the league in passing with 2,063 yards, while Smith has rushed for 1,198 yards this season. The Panthers' Kameron Maye leads the league in receiving yards with 790 on 50 catches.
DePriest Turner has rushed for 942 yards on 121 carries so far this year.
