The Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Leon Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Corrigan-Camden should still be riding high after a big victory, while Leon will be looking to get back into the win column.
The third road match was the charm for Corrigan-Camden, as they earned their first road win of the season. They put the hurt on Normangee with a sharp 38-14 win on Friday.
Michael Sullivan went supernova for Corrigan-Camden, throwing for 215 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes, while also punching in two touchdowns on the ground. Tony Cooper also helped out with an impressive 97 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Leon and Groveton were almost perfectly matched up two Fridays ago, but Leon suffered an agonizing 14-13 defeat. That means Leon has now suffered back-to-back defeats.
Despite their defeat, Leon saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Brock Bumpurs, who threw for 112 yards and two touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all.
Corrigan-Camden's victory on Friday bumped their record up to 2-4. Leon has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Corrigan-Camden against Leon in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 56-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Corrigan-Camden since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
